Textile upcycling The leftover materials get sorted by colors, textures, and usage before being crocheted into bags, baskets, or coasters with varying shades of colors. Textiles could be pure cotton, or a mix of cotton, natural and synthetic fibers, or silk at times. Textile Upcycling Our Production and creative team get together with the Kendaka workshop ladies every while to discuss and create new products and designs. Textile Upcycling By the beautiful hands of the talented artisans’ ladies, every fabric scrap is chosen carefully to match the whole design, and they start crocheting every piece in its place. Textile Upcycling Upcycling textiles has added much value to their mastering technique and it has opened new markets. The textile upcycling team is being shaped into a collaborative production model. Textile Upcycling N.B: This product is sustainably made, upcycled, and handcrafted by the women of Kendaka. Kendaka upcycles textile leftovers from Egyptian textile and clothing factories into a trendy functional home- and tableware. Originally many women in Badr City, (an industrial suburb of Cairo, Egypt) mastered crochet. Kendaka introduced the upcycling concept to crochet artisans using textile scraps.
